Our Story

Over the span of more than twenty years and two careers — one in Higher Education and one in the world of Business — Dr. Chuck Hood has been handcrafting uniquely beautiful furniture for his family, at least until there was no more room in his home or in his children's homes! So, in 2021, Chuck and Susan opened the MountainWoodsNC shop, located in The Marquee (B-19) in the River Arts District of Asheville. These first few years have taken them on quite a journey and they've loved every minute of it.
